Most people see the shape and think Danish – laminated, flaky pastry that goes soggy fast. This is different. A Polish drożdżówka is made from an enriched yeast dough with eggs, butter, and milk. Softer, more structured, closer to brioche.

If custard felt smooth and familiar, custard and cherry adds a sharper edge to cut through it.
