Nutty poppy seed paste with a creamy cheesecake layer underneath — two classic Polish fillings in one. Earthy, slightly sweet, and more complex than either filling on its own.
Most people see the shape and think Danish – laminated, flaky pastry that goes soggy fast. This is different. A Polish drożdżówka is made from an enriched yeast dough with eggs, butter, and milk. Softer, more structured, closer to brioche.
Baked fresh daily, the kind of thing that works with morning coffee or mid-afternoon without asking much of you.
If poppy and cheesecake felt layered and earthy, cinnamon goes warmer and more aromatic.
